EZclass Refund Policy
Effective Date: April 9, 2026
EZclass is committed to providing high-quality online classes and subscription services. Due to the nature of our offerings — reserving teacher time and granting immediate access to educational content — we maintain a strict NO REFUND policy on all purchases. By purchasing any class or subscription on EZclass, you acknowledge and agree that all sales are final and not eligible for return, refund, or cancellation.
All prices include applicable taxes (such as Estonian VAT at 24%) unless otherwise specified and displayed at checkout. Any compensation issued under the exceptions described below will be provided as EZclass account credit within the platform, without prejudice to any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
This policy applies to all types of purchases on our Platform, including but not limited to:
- One-Time Class Bookings: Individual classes or packages of classes (whether for one student or a small group).
- Subscription Plans: Monthly, quarterly, annual, or any other recurring membership plans that grant access to classes or content.
- Digital Content or Add-Ons: Any downloadable materials, course content, or additional services purchased (including FlexPass and premium add-ons).
We do not offer refunds or credits for any reason except in the rare circumstances explicitly described under “Exceptions” below. Changes of mind, schedule conflicts, or dissatisfaction with a class after attendance are not grounds for a refund under this policy.
Important Notice: EU Right of Withdrawal — Pre-Purchase Acknowledgment Required
This section contains legally significant information that affects your consumer rights. Please read it carefully before completing any purchase.
Your Statutory Right of Withdrawal
Under EU consumer protection law — specifically Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights — consumers ordinarily have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts (including online purchases). This right normally allows you to cancel a contract within 14 days of conclusion without giving any reason and receive a full refund.
Waiver of the Right of Withdrawal for EZclass Services
- EZclass services are subject to exceptions to the right of withdrawal under Article 16(a) and Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU. These exceptions apply because:
- Article 16(a) provides that the right of withdrawal does not apply to service contracts once the service has been fully performed, where performance has begun with the consumer’s prior express consent and acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal will be lost.
- Article 16(m) provides that the right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium, where performance has begun with the consumer’s prior express consent and acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal will be lost.
Services to Which This Waiver Applies
This waiver applies to all EZclass purchases, including:
- Live online classes — performance begins at the time of booking, as the teacher’s time is reserved immediately.
- Subscription access — performance begins upon activation, as platform features and content become immediately accessible.
- AI placement tests — performance begins when the user clicks the “Start Test” button after being presented with the payment confirmation and the right of withdrawal notice.
- Digital course content — performance begins upon delivery or unlocking of the content.
Your Express Consent is Required
By completing a purchase on EZclass, you:
- Expressly request the immediate performance of the selected service or supply of digital content before the expiry of the 14-day withdrawal period; and
- Acknowledge and accept that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun or the digital content has been supplied.
This acknowledgment is a mandatory condition of purchase. You will be presented with a clear, dedicated checkbox at the point of purchase requiring your active confirmation of this consent before payment can proceed. If you do not agree, you must not complete the purchase.
Without Prejudice to Other Statutory Rights
This waiver of the right of withdrawal is without prejudice to any other statutory rights you may have under applicable EU law, including but not limited to:
- Rights under Directive 2019/770/EU on contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services (e.g., the right to price reduction or contract termination where digital content or services are non-conforming);
- Rights under Directive 2019/771/EU on contracts for the sale of goods (where applicable);
- Protections against unfair commercial practices under Directive 2005/29/EC;
- Any mandatory consumer protections under the law of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by contract.
Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit, exclude, or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable EU or national consumer protection law.
Understanding Our No-Refund Policy
When you purchase a class or subscription with EZclass, you are reserving a spot with a dedicated teacher at a specific time, or gaining immediate access to our learning resources. Our teachers are compensated for their time and preparation, and space in classes is limited. As such, once a purchase is made:
- Your Payment is Final: EZclass does not issue compensation to your original payment method for classes you cannot attend or decide not to attend. This is comparable to purchasing a ticket to a live event — if you do not show up, the seat was still held for you. This does not limit any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
- Subscription Commitment: When you subscribe, you gain instant access to our platform features (e.g., ability to schedule classes in advance, access to curriculum or learning materials). You also commit to a billing cycle. Even if you do not utilize all available classes or features in your subscription period, you will not be compensated for unused time or classes. For example, if you subscribe to a monthly plan and only take one class that month, the subscription fee for that month remains due in full.
- Auto-Renewal: All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of their billing period (e.g., your monthly subscription will charge you each month) until you cancel. It is your responsibility to cancel your subscription before the next billing date if you do not wish to continue. If you forget to cancel and are charged for a new period, that charge is non-refundable. EZclass will send you a renewal reminder at least 14 days before your next billing date so that you have sufficient time to cancel before being charged. By subscribing, you agree to these automatic renewal charges.
- Digital Nature of Service: Our services (online classes and educational content) are intangible and delivered in real-time or via digital access. There is no product to “return.” The moment a class is booked or a subscription is activated, you have received value (the reserved teacher time or access to materials) that cannot be undone. Once access is provided, the sale is final. This is consistent with industry standards for digital and subscription services where content is delivered immediately and cannot truly be returned.
- Add-On Features: This policy also applies to AI-based placement tests and any add-on features (such as FlexPass, additional reschedules, or premium analytics). Once a test is taken, a credit purchased, or an add-on activated, those fees are non-refundable because the digital service has been rendered.
Examples (For Clarity)
The following scenarios illustrate how this policy applies in practice. These examples are for guidance only; in all cases, our default position is that payments are non-refundable once made.
- Example 1: Missed Class. You purchased a one-time class scheduled for next Tuesday at 5 PM. Tuesday comes and you forget to attend or have a last-minute conflict (or technical issues on your side, such as internet problems). Since the teacher was present and waiting, and a spot was held for you, you are not entitled to a refund or a free reschedule for that missed session.
- Example 2: Subscription Change of Mind. You subscribe to a monthly plan on the 1st of the month. On the 15th, you realize you are too busy and have not taken any classes yet, and you request a refund for that month. Under this policy, we do not grant a refund for the unused portion. You still have access to classes for the remainder of the month and can choose to cancel future renewal, but the current month will not be refunded.
- Example 3: Partial Use of Subscription. You purchased a package that gives you 8 classes per month and only ended up taking 5 classes this month. There is no refund for the 3 unused classes. In some cases, if your plan allows roll-over of classes (check your specific plan’s terms), you may be able to use them the following month while your subscription is active. If not, they expire at the end of the billing period. We price our subscriptions with the understanding that some users may not use 100% of the allotment, which is factored into the cost.
- Example 4: Forgot to Cancel. Your free trial ended or your subscription auto-renewed, and your payment method was charged for the next period, but you intended to cancel. You should cancel as soon as you realize you no longer wish to continue. However, charges already incurred will not be refunded. You will retain access to the service for the paid period, and the cancellation will ensure no future charges, but the current charge stands. This is why we send renewal reminders at least 14 days before each billing date.
- Example 5: Dissatisfaction. After attending a class, you feel you did not enjoy it or did not receive the value you hoped for. We encourage you to provide feedback, and we can try to make it right by offering tips, another teacher recommendation, or other non-monetary remedies. However, dissatisfaction with the class content or teaching style is not grounds for a refund, since the service was delivered. We suggest reading teacher profiles and class descriptions carefully and using any free trial opportunities (if available) to gauge fit before committing to purchases.
- Example 6: AI Placement Test. You purchased an AI English Placement Test. The test uses OpenAI Whisper for speech-to-text transcription and DeepSeek AI Co., Ltd. for writing and speaking evaluation scoring. The test is considered begun when you click the “Start Test” button, which is presented after your payment confirmation and the right of withdrawal notice. Once you click “Start Test,” data processing begins and the service is considered delivered. The payment is non-refundable even if you choose not to complete the test.
- If you are unsure about your internet connection or browser compatibility, we encourage you to run a pre-check or contact support before clicking “Start Test”. Technical issues arising after the test has started cannot be grounds for a refund.
- Important Notice on AI Placement Tests. Each AI English Placement Test purchase grants access to only one attempt (either an initial test or a retake, but not both). Once the test is started by clicking the “Start Test” button, the AI evaluation begins and the service is considered rendered. This applies even if the test is abandoned mid-session, closed accidentally, or fails to generate results due to the user’s device or internet issues. No refunds, reschedules, or reactivations will be granted under these conditions. If the platform confirms a test was launched and data processing began, the payment remains non-refundable.
Acknowledgment of Policy Before Purchase
We make every effort to ensure that users are aware of this No-Refund Policy prior to completing a purchase. On the checkout page, you will be presented with a clear, dedicated disclosure — including the EU Right of Withdrawal notice set out above — and you will be required to actively check a box confirming:
- That you have read and understood this Refund Policy;
- That you expressly request immediate performance of the service; and
- That you acknowledge you will thereby lose your right of withdrawal.
If you do not actively agree to these terms, your purchase cannot be completed.
You will also be notified of the single-attempt, non-refundable nature of the AI Placement Test directly on the test launch screen, prior to the “Start Test” button becoming active.

This consent is recorded and securely stored in accordance with GDPR Article 7, the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), and applicable EU consumer-information regulations.
Exceptions (Limited Circumstances)
General Rule: No Monetary Refunds
While our general policy is no monetary refunds, in certain situations where a class or service could not be delivered as promised due to reasons attributable to EZclass, we may offer a class credit or, in rare cases where no equivalent alternative can be provided, consider additional remedies.
Credit-Only Compensation Principle
When compensation is warranted (e.g., verified service failure), EZclass will provide EZclass account credit equivalent to the value of the missed or non-conforming service. These credits can be used for future classes, tests, or add-ons (such as FlexPass reschedules). Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and have no cash value.
Compensation for platform faults is issued as EZclass account credit. This does not limit any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law, including rights under Directive 2019/770/EU on digital content contracts (e.g., the right to price reduction or contract termination for non-conforming digital content).
The following are the specific circumstances in which compensation may apply:
- Class Cancellation by EZclass: If EZclass must cancel a class or service you have paid for (for example, if a teacher becomes unavailable and we are unable to provide a suitable substitute or reschedule), we will offer you EZclass account credit to make up for the missed service. This is without prejudice to any statutory rights you may have under applicable EU consumer protection law.
- Serious Technical Issues on Our Side: If a class fails to occur due to a technical issue directly caused by EZclass (such as a platform outage or a defective Zoom integration that we cannot resolve in time), we will offer to reschedule the class at no additional cost. If rescheduling is not feasible, we will issue EZclass account credit for that session. This is without prejudice to any statutory rights you may have under applicable EU consumer protection law.
- Please note: Technical problems on your end (e.g., personal internet issues, device malfunctions, or software incompatibilities) are not eligible for credits and would be treated as a missed class under our no-refund policy. However, one emergency reschedule may apply if you still hold FlexPass or monthly emergency allowance rights under Section 3.1 of our Terms and Conditions.
- Instructor No-Show: If an instructor does not attend a scheduled class, resulting in the class not taking place, please notify us promptly. Once verified, you will be entitled to EZclass account credit for a future session of equivalent value. In cases where a class started late due to a teacher delay but still took place, we may offer a partial credit depending on the specific circumstances, handled on a case-by-case basis.
- Billing Errors: If you are mistakenly charged an incorrect amount or charged multiple times due to an error on our part or the payment processor’s side, we will correct the mistake.
- Examples:
- Duplicate charges → We will refund the duplicate charge to your original payment method.
- Charges after timely subscription cancellation → We will refund the improper charge.
- These are corrections of billing errors and are not considered discretionary refunds. EZclass uses Stripe as its secure payment processor. Corrections for billing errors are processed through Stripe under PCI-DSS and GDPR Article 28 safeguards.
- Extraordinary Hardship (Goodwill Exceptions): We understand that life can bring unforeseen difficulties. If you experience a serious personal hardship (such as a medical emergency or other exceptional event) that prevents you from using a significant portion of your purchased classes or subscription, you may contact us at [email protected] to request a special review.
- While our general policy is no monetary refunds, in rare and well-documented cases, management may offer a partial account credit or, exceptionally, a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill — at our sole discretion. Supporting documentation (such as a medical certificate) may be required. This is not a guarantee but an option of last resort, evaluated compassionately and reasonably.
Any exception or accommodation provided under this section is done without prejudice to our general policy. It constitutes a one-time accommodation and does not indicate that similar future requests will be granted. Our decision in each case is final, subject to any rights you may have under applicable law.
FlexPass Add-On Terms
The FlexPass add-on grants additional reschedule rights beyond the standard policy. FlexPass entitlements are non-refundable once activated. Specific FlexPass terms (number of reschedules permitted, validity period, and conditions) are set out at the point of purchase and in the FlexPass product description. FlexPass does not override the general no-refund policy for class fees; it applies only to the rescheduling rights it expressly grants.
Subscription Cancellations
While refunds are not given, you are always free to cancel a subscription to prevent future charges. Cancelling will stop the auto-renewal of your membership. You will continue to have access to your subscription benefits until the end of the current paid period, after which the subscription will not renew.
How to cancel: You can cancel via your account settings under Subscription / Billing, or by contacting support at [email protected]. We recommend cancelling at least 24 hours before your renewal date to ensure the cancellation is processed in time. All cancellation cut-off times are calculated according to your local timezone displayed in the EZclass dashboard.
After cancellation, you will not be charged again, but no prorated refund is provided for the remainder of the period. For example, if you cancel halfway through a month, you retain access for the rest of that month but will not receive a refund for the unused portion.
Renewal reminders: EZclass will send you a renewal reminder at least 14 days before each upcoming billing date to give you sufficient time to cancel if you do not wish to renew.
If you change your mind after cancelling, you may re-subscribe at any time before or after the current period ends.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Initiating a chargeback for a charge that is consistent with this policy may constitute a breach of our Terms of Service. Because we explicitly obtain your active agreement to this Refund Policy prior to purchase, and record that consent, we will provide card processors and banks with evidence of your acceptance and usage where a chargeback is filed.
- If you have a concern, please contact us first at [email protected]. We want to resolve any issue amicably.
- If you dispute a charge that is consistent with this policy (for instance, claiming “service not received” after missing a class or forgetting to cancel a subscription), we will provide the card processor or bank with evidence: agreed terms, usage logs, emails, and consent records demonstrating that the charge was valid. This may result in the chargeback being denied. Unjustified chargebacks may also result in account suspension.
- If a charge was truly fraudulent or unauthorized (e.g., someone used your payment details without your permission), you have the right to dispute it — and we will cooperate fully with the relevant authorities and payment processors. This policy does not affect your rights in cases of fraud.
Unjustified chargebacks can slow down dispute resolution and may incur fees from payment processors. We reserve the right to recover such fees from users who abuse the chargeback process in violation of this policy.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Refund Policy is governed by Estonian law. By purchasing from EZclass, you acknowledge that all transactions are processed under the jurisdiction of Estonia and applicable EU consumer protection regulations, regardless of your country of residence.
Disputes arising from this Refund Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Harju County Court, Tallinn, Estonia, without prejudice to any mandatory jurisdiction rights you may have under the law of your country of residence as an EU consumer.
Policy Agreement
By making a purchase or creating an account on EZclass, you expressly agree to this Refund Policy.
During the purchase process, you are required to actively confirm acceptance of this Refund Policy, the Terms & Conditions, and the Privacy Policy before completing payment. This consent is recorded and securely stored in accordance with GDPR Article 7, the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), and applicable EU consumer-information regulations.
This policy reflects the nature of our services, which involve reserving teacher time, allocating limited class capacity, and providing immediate access to digital learning resources. Once a class is scheduled or a subscription is activated, value is delivered and cannot be reversed. Maintaining a no-refund policy allows EZclass to offer fair pricing and consistent service quality for all users.
If you do not agree to this policy, you should not proceed with registration or payment.
