2. Business Activity

EZclass OÜ operates ezclass.io, an online English-language learning platform that provides:

Live classes delivered by qualified teachers
Self-study tools and interactive learning resources
Subscription-based access plans for learners

EZclass also operates placement.ezclass.io, an AI-powered English Placement Test service. The placement test uses OpenAI Whisper for speech-to-text transcription and DeepSeek AI Co., Ltd. for writing and speaking evaluation scoring. Test results are algorithmically generated for placement purposes only and should not be considered formal certifications.

Automated processing disclosure (GDPR Art. 22): The placement test involves automated processing of speech and written input. It does not make decisions producing legal effects or similarly significant effects on data subjects. Accordingly, GDPR Article 22 does not apply to this processing activity. Results are used solely for educational placement recommendations.

3. Hosting and Infrastructure

3.1 Primary Hosting — Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

EZclass web services and data are hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with primary data centers located in Frankfurt, Germany and the Netherlands (both within the EU/EEA). GCP processes personal data as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement compliant with GDPR Chapter V requirements.

3.2 Domain Registration and Email Hosting — Hostinger

Domain registration for ezclass.io and placement.ezclass.io, and associated email services, are provided by Hostinger International Ltd., a company registered in Cyprus. Hostinger processes personal data as a data processor under a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement.

4. Third-Party Systems

4.1 OpenAI (Speech-to-Text)

OpenAI, LLC (San Francisco, California, USA) provides the Whisper speech-to-text transcription model used in the EZclass English Placement Test. Audio input submitted by users is transmitted to OpenAI’s API for transcription processing. Data transfer to the United States is conducted under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), pursuant to the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795).

4.2 DeepSeek AI (Evaluation Scoring)

DeepSeek AI Co., Ltd. (Beijing, China) provides AI evaluation scoring for the EZclass English Placement Test via the API endpoint api.deepseek.com. Writing and speaking responses submitted by users are transmitted to DeepSeek’s API for automated scoring. Data transfer to the People’s Republic of China is conducted under Standard Contractual Clauses (EU Commission Decision 2021/914).

4.3 Directus (Content Management System)

EZclass uses Directus as its content management system. The Directus instance is fully self-hosted on EZclass-controlled infrastructure within the GCP EU data centers. No personal data processed by Directus is transmitted to third parties or to Directus Inc. servers.

4.4 NTFY (Notification System)

Push notifications are managed via NTFY, an open-source notification system. The NTFY instance used by EZclass is fully self-hosted on EZclass-controlled infrastructure. No notification data, user identifiers, or personal data are shared with any third party or transmitted to external NTFY servers.

4.5 Cookie Consent — vanilla-cookieconsent

Cookie consent on both ezclass.io and placement.ezclass.io is managed via vanilla-cookieconsent, an open-source cookie consent solution. Both sites implement Google Consent Mode v2, with all tracking defaults set to denied until explicit user consent is obtained. No non-essential cookies or tracking scripts are activated prior to consent.
